Fundraising

The Rooster Springs Elementary PTA helps our school provide enrichment and programming for students such as student assemblies, One World Night, school wide Art Appreciation projects, social emotional learning support, and author visits. Funds raised each year also provide support through student and staff grants, professional development grants, parent education seminars, monthly staff appreciation events, and an annual Staff Appreciation Week. The Learning Garden is completely PTA-funded and volunteer-run.

With the support of fundraisers we are able to complete large projects such as the buddy bench, outdoor seating area, specialized books to aid young readers, and playground improvements. The highlight 2023-2024 project was adding turf and drainage to a section of the recess play area that had been bare and dusty on windy days and muddy on rainy days. In 2024-2025 the PTA was proud to help fund the replacement cistern, add turf and drainage to the Gaga pit making it much more usable, and fund a teacher-imagined redesign of the Literacy Library.

In 2025-2026, members approved a new laminator and a portable sound system for the school, a new piano to replace one that had broken, raised beds for four Learning Garden plots, playground equipment bags for every grade level, and costumes for the Nutcracker play. The PTA raised classroom allocations to $1,830 per grade level, awarded 34 school supply kit scholarships, and funded staff and professional development grants. Members also approved playground improvements, including a lowered basketball hoop and new four-square courts, that will be completed this year.

How it's done

The PTA defines its annual priorities and creates a budget to support programs and initiatives. Together families, teachers, community members and local businesses raise funds by:

Tiger Tough Fundraiser: November 6 to 20

tiger-tough-poster

This November, Rooster Springs runs its own fundraiser for the first time. The 1st Annual Tiger Tough Fundraiser kicks off at the RiSE Rally on Friday, November 6 and finishes with a Fun Race on Friday, November 20. Every student gets a Tiger Tough shirt, classes and grade levels compete together, and rewards are experiences like extra recess and popsicle parties, never interruptions to class time. Because we are running it ourselves, every dollar families give stays at Rooster Springs.

Watch for QR cards coming home in early November. Want to sponsor a race-day moment? Email fundraising@rsespta.org.
